I appreciate that. Yeah, being perfect would be nice... but not expected. Being safe and reliable is my concern. I am having a frame shop check it independently as well as dealer. Might be a waste of money might be valuable info. If just some worn components then heck yeah, I will be happy. If all goes well, I will get more answers than questions today from dealer and independent shop.

That is a good idea :p

I brought the truck in to the main dealer and spoke with the foreman. He inspected it himself. Had a very good experience there to be honest. He measured out the suspension multiple times from multiple points and angles both in the air and on the ground. Bed was square, suspension was within spec and checked out. He did not see any visual evidence of an accident, frame damage or cover up work from an accident etc. Explained the only way to be 100% sure would be to have it sent to a frame shop to check but that it did not appear to need that. Concluded it is likely due to the bed being warped and did not say I was crazy. Several techs even voiced the fact it was noticeable on the level ground of the service bay. They are offering to have the body shop try to adjust it if I want at no expense. I would guess that involves shims of some sort. I don't really want to send the truck to a frame shop to have it inspected at this point. Even though I read of one horror story of similar nature where it did turn out to be the frame shop tried to shim the bed, that was a confirmed accident. It might be time to just enjoy the damn truck. If it is just a warped bed, it has character and a great story about it's second owner's paranoia.

I agree, I would send it over to the frame shop as well. And a hell no on the shims idea.

Have the body shop and/ or frame shop check it out. It can be made to look right. The "Taco lean" is not a good excuse. These trucks were built to be level. Been there, done that.

Yeah if the dealership body shop doesn't offer a proper fix then I will see what other options are out there. I could always still take it down to the frame and axle shop I was recommended to. They charge $75 for an inspection. I do feel like they aren't lying when told it doesn't appear to be frame related but without and actual frame shop inspection who knows.

I'm going on the whole "certified" aspect of the sale, just slapping that little word on it adds a couple of thousand to the price because they are saying its perfect, as such they should stand by it. I bought a certified Honda CRV, starting on week one it spent the first 4 months of its life as our "new" car in the shop, ended up replacing the entire front end, entire A/C and just as the trans started going out at year end I traded it on a silverado, because of all the year end cash back / rebates I ended up $1400 to the good (that has never happened to me on something I knew I was upside down on) so I dodged a bullet with that "certified" POS. (anyway), being that it was certified and the fact that said they would make it good, I would hold them to making it right. but that is just me.

Yeah, I will have them do the "bed adjustment". I just am not really looking to have it shimmed. I am also going to ask if they can reimburse me if I do take it to an independent frame specialty place for inspection since they were pretty eager to help. I don't think the body shop they are using was going to offer that inspection but I could always ask. I am supposed to set up a time next week for a rental and to drop off.

This is called Taco lean. Not sure why but it is apparent my designed in (ingress/ egress?) stock can be 1/2" to 1" depending on the model. Solve by adding a 1/2" spacer to the drivers front coil.

It is on the passenger side and only rear of the bed so not the usual taco lean.

Ah come on...there is no such thing as the "Taco Lean"...another internet myth probably started by a Tacoma service department manager. I had a full-size "Chevrolet Blazer Lean" that was cause by the truck being strapped down to tightly on the transport. A frame shop made it right at Chevrolet's expense. It can be made right. Just "get-r-done".

My bed and rear bumper are slightly crooked as well. Don't really care either.

The reality is you have multiple items to line up. Cab, bed, bumper, etc. it's hard to get them all perfectly inline.

Tguil, it's real enough that many coil over lift suppliers include a 1/2" spacer for the drivers side pack. Just sayin. In my case it's because I accidentally installed the spacer on the passenger side. Oops!
