I think, I need to replace my TC. What aftermarket ones do you guys recommend? I have priced the OEM one and it's a little under $600. Don't really want to spend that, but I am considering it.

sorry guys, just saw your replies.

While driving on flat road with no stopping trans temp is usually around 160* or so, with it about 85* or ambient temp. It's gotten up to about 195 or so going uphill. I've seen it hit almost 205 with it about 100* ambient temp and this is with a cooler on. Before I put the cooler on, it's hit temps of about 225* with extreme temps outside. I've had the trans serviced and they said the fluid looked fine with no debris and it wasn't burnt. I've had a few people suggest it's the torque converter. but will read up on the links you posted, when I get the chance.

Lately, I've noticed that the torque converter seems to drag a little and doesn't seem to lock up, soon enough. For instance sometimes on acceleration from a intersection light and when shifting up after I take it out of OD when going uphill, when it up shifts to 3rd, the RPMs rev a little high and then it takes couple of seconds for them to drop, like a clutch being released slowly on a manual clutch. I've also noticed some vibration at lower speeds like around 25mph or so, especially at acceleration.
