Like a few others here, I swapped out my stock suspension for a pair of OME 886's and OME shocks with light racing UCA's and I hear a clunk when coming off of a speed bump (at a moderate speed not grandpa speed but nothing crazy). When I dispatched a friend to watch the front tires as I went over a speed bump, he remarked that the front tires were coming off of the ground. This means one of two things (or both really). Either my UCA's are adjusted incorrectly despite them aligning just fine or my shocks are topping out. I have a feeling it is the shocks but for humor sake, I want to see pics of your Light Racing UCA's to see how the ball joint is sitting (since you can move it around) and if you are having the same clunk when coming off of bumps. It is possible that I could have my ball joints facing the wrong way and its not allowing it to travel as much as it needs to.

    Thanks!

I have the same exact problem as you. '14 Taco with 886's and LR UCA's. After tightening everything up, adding a sway bar relocator kit, taking into 3 different shops (mechanics couldn't find anything wrong), I STILL have the clunk. The clunk feels as if it's coming from the drivers side right below the pedals. I have learned to live with the noise until I decide to replace the OME lift with some Icons.

I'm looking at either adjusting my UCA's to get a better alignment or go back to stock UCA's. ARB says they don't/shouldn't clunck with stock UCA's and all of the posts I've seen so far involve (or can remember while I type this) these UCA's.

Limiting straps are not an option. Limiting straps are not a solution for a 2.5-3 inch lift.

Why would the clunk happen with Light Racing UCA's but not stock UCAs? Do the Light Racing UCA's allow the shock to bottom out?? Why does it happen with some of these set ups but not all? I'd like to see what others have their UCA's adjusted to and/or how they are set for a possible solution.

    Any help would be great!

^^ For me at least the problem wasn't the UCA's (had the clunk before with my stock UCA's and the clunk remained after I put on my LR UCA's). I've heard people say that the 886's have a problem with the shock "bottoming out"

Most likely it is the shocks slamming to full extension do to the Long Length and High Spring Rate of the the OME 886 Coils.

Try re-torquing the long pivot bolts. Doing that quieted mine down for a while

That's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!!

I see your ball joints are set at position "D" on the Light Racing instructions. Mine is at "G" on both sides. I'm curious if I rotate mine around, get another alignment from another place (2nd opinion kind of thing), if that would help.
