If you had to choose one to start out with after you cut the cord, which should my wife and I choose and why? Don't know if this matters or not with choosing or not but we have a 3 year old daughter so we have to have something for her to watch too.

I would recommend netflix. They have tons of kids movies and shows, and older seasons to shows as well as excellent original shows. This will allow you to catch up on past seasons and if you later decide you want to watch current shows, you can add hulu plus. Also hulu plus allows one viewing at a time and netflix allows two. AND Netflix doesn't have commercials

Look into Amazon Prime also. I dropped Netflix because Amazon Prime had most of the same free movies. Also you get the Prime 2 day free shipping. But to answer your actual question I'd say Netflix. They have an entire Netflix For Kids menu.

We haven't had cable for about six years now (except a few football seasons here and there) and just have Netflix on our smart TV. Our son is turning three soon and we never have a hard time finding something good for him to watch. Plus, most of the Netflix original shows are great. They also have a lot of excellent AMC and BBC shows that we dig.

Once you sign up for Netflix and pay the monthly fee, is all the content free to watch after that?

Hulu is going to give you your major network shows the next day. Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC. if you mainly watch those tv shows I would go with hulu. But I like netflix for movies.

We dropped our cable after the 2 year promotion ran out. I have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. Netflix gets used the most. Hulu sucks if you happen to miss a couple weeks of the show because they only keep a limited number of episodes on there for most shows. If you make sure to catch the shows weekly it can be good. Amazon Prime gets the least amount of use in our house. Even with paying for the 3 services its cheaper than cable by a long shot.

I agree but it can be frustrating trying to get a signal for some people. I tried it a few times and it's hard to get FOX where I was living at the time. Would always have to adjust antenna for FOX and then others would be pixiled a bit. I didn't use a nice roof antenna though but may try it again and see how it would work in my current location.

We signed up for netflix on Saturday. We turned in our cable box Friday and told them we just wanted internet through them and they said ok. As of this morning we still have cable coming through. I called Friday night b/c I got a new modem and they said I had an appointment scheduled for Saturday morning so I just assumed they were going to come out to cut it off. Not sure what is going on. So far Netflix is awesome and has a lot of choices for the whole family.

You might want to look at sling tv if you still watch some major cable networks like ESPN/2, AMC, History, TBS, etc.
