2000 Tacoma PreRunner blows fuses. When I purchased the truck the clock wasn't working, so I changed the fuse and it went well until I plugged the cigarette lighter into the socket and it blew the fuse. Did this twice and haven't messed with it in a bit but I want to be able to use the lighter. Suggestions?

sometimes the lighters get shorted out, try another lighter from a friends car,. if it still blows the fuse, you need to replace the whole lighter socket.

also take a good look in there, wouldn't be the first time a bit of metal was found in the lighter socket shorting it out
