He was just making conversation about the topic, I don't think he really gives a damn about your true Opinion. If you don't have anything constructive to give your opinion on, go away troll

The post was a general shot across the bow to elicit some back and forth discussion regarding a new purchase. That is all.

As far as my opening comments are concerned, if those shoes fit then lace them up tight. They were observations made after having browsed countless threads, and deciding instead of wasting my time within a thread that had gone from interesting conversations to god knows what. I would start my own. However, as you can see from above a "Troll" has already attempted to infiltrate. :fenforcer:

Regarding intended usage, it will replace my daily driver. Extended camping/overland trips will be in its future, and if I eventually make my way back to the east coast it will see some time on the beach. All things I have done while shifting my own gears. Just can't decide if total control means more to me than having my truck possessed by some off-road savvy software.

Anyone read anything about interior/exterior color combinations. Im tracking on all the paint options, just not on the interior options.

It would seem rightfully so that you either give over control to the computer or not. Of late, computerized downshifting with the automatic is an important aspect in speed control of the regular over the road driving . It should also be an important aspect in crawl control. If you really want crawl control, you pretty much have to give up everything but steerage to the computer.

Engine braking, especially with the ultimate use of an electric drive motor at some point is what we are headed for. Using the power of the engine to help control speed in addition to the brakes is much safer and more reliable over time and requires the computer and not you to control the transmission...otherwise, you compromise the use of the ABs system which is used in most of your traction control modes.

Crawl control is just carrying that part of braking off road where it has been for years on road. The auto transmission becomes an integral part of that carryover.

    Great stuff guys:cheers:

Granted this is on a closed course, and without a doubt rehearsed. It is impressive though.

Do we think this system could negate a set of Maxtrax in many situations?

The way i think is that I use the truck as a daily driver therefore a Manual for me is a more engaging driving than the automatic (feel more in control of the truck) Crawl control is nice but lets be real how many times will you use such a system in a year or maybe the truck lifetime. Granted is better to have and not need it than need it and not have it but , I think for the daily driver ( just like I am ) the Manual is more than enough and also FUN . My 2 cents!

And I hope a million dollars falls in my lap today.

There are technial threads, and there are BS threads, and then there are 3rd gen threads.

If you have any questions, please refer to my sig.

Right... I would like to see how well it could dig out on a level surface. Gravity is lending some help here also.
