I have a 1 month old 2015 Tacoma. It has a dead mouse smell coming from the radiator area. It is driven every day and no sign of rodent activity. Anyone have any experience with anything like this?

That was cold. Give the man a break.

Wish I knew the answer. Maybe between radiator and A/C condenser?

Did you hit a bird, sometimes those b*****ds leave a smell after you hit them.

Pull the skid plate off and have a good look around. Worst case scenario at least it's outside and the smell won't last forever.

LOL Okay, yes I laughed out loud in real life (LOLIRL) but that was still kind of not cool.

OP - I'd suggest looking into the grille closely. See if there's any sign of animal carcass (bird strike, etc). As mentioned by another see if anything dropped down into the skid plate if you have one. And if possible see if there's anything stuck in where the radiator fan is perhaps?

1 month old truck? Take it back to the dealer for them to assist.

I am pretty sure it is not actually a critter but that is the best I can describe it. It has a plastic base to the aroma like it is off gassing. Awfully hard to describe a smell. I know other truck makes have had issues with the radiator hoses giving off a smell, just wondered if it might also be a Tacoma issue also. It seems to come and go and right now I can't really tell much. Over the week-end the smell managed to permeate the garage, but when I parked it in my larger outbuilding not so much. For now I will monitor it and if it is persistent I will take it to the dealer for them to give it a whiff.

I had a mouse that slid down the driver side fender well. Was stuck in between the inner and outer panels. Was able to pull the decaying carcass out by opening the driver's door and pulling open the rubber seal that's located just below the lower hinge. I would take a pic, but Toyota has had my truck since April waiting on a frame replacement! I had a loaner 2015 DCSB that put off some odd smells every now and then from the engine bay. Like you, I only really noticed when it was parked in the garage. Stuck in a Corolla now though. :(

you can also check your grill area, sometimes birds get stuck in it and start to go bad
