Does anyone have experience with these things? I was looking at one on autoanything.com, it looks pretty sturdy and it got good reviews.

It has been awhile since I've driven a pickup on a regular basis, and I forgot how easy it is to break the rear end free when it's wet. An extra couple hundred pounds over the rear axle would be nice.

I personally would not want to pay $100 just for a glorified water jug that will render my bed useless.

Just get some sandbags, some concrete, or something else that's much cheaper, and does not take up too much space, or require tie downs to secure it.

I did the cinder block thing with my last truck. It worked fine for the most part, but either way, you still have to tie it down some way, or you've got bricks sliding around in the bed. And you loose the area the blocks take up.

The bladder description says it can handle up to 500lbs on top of it, which is far from rendering the bed useless. :) I might get a couple 100lb bags of concrete though. If I don't like the way they work, I'm out $20.00 (well, $10.00 if I sell them on Craigslist).

Yeah, I DO like water. We all need it to live.

I always prefer being prepared, and weighed down, than unprepared, and lightweight.

I do have one. I got it for free from a buddy. Part of a tiedown broke, and he got it replaced for free and they didn't want the other back. It was an easy fix, otherwise I'd use sandbags. It does freeze in winter, and the bag can take some abuse. I threw a bunch of stuff on mine last winter (too lazy to drain it and refill it), and it held up fine.
