Thanks for the photos, they were helpful. i am thinking of purchasing a cupola for my 40x40 barn that is 20' high with a 6/12 pitch. i have some old sheets of copper that i salvaged off an old doghouse built by a grandfather, so it has sentimental value. i have 5 sheets that are 40"x12" and one that is 27"x12". i am planning a 42" flat roof cupola with windows. i am trying to figure out how i might piece the copper roof from those scraps. Any ideas? Thanks!

If you want to use the existing copper using the sizes you have, I'd make the roof a standing seam style.

    Nice job constructing that Cupola.

Questions: What is the angle of the base? What is the size of the width and height?

Thanks Carl. The flared angle of the base is a 10 degree bevel. The overall width of the body (window section) is about 26".

I was just looking back at these pics in the thread.... the copper has already lost it's 'new car' gleam. :annoyed:

I've been wanting to build a Cupola too.
Yours looks so good that it has re-inspired me.
I'm not as skilled as you at woodworking - got any tips you would like to share?

    Thanks

    Carl
