    2011 Taco, 3" lift w/ 285-70-17's
I wanted to find pics of my 2011 Taco with Wrangler Duratrac 285's, 17" rims, and a 3" lift. Didn't find exactly what I was looking for, so posting here for others. I love how it turned out!

I'm doing essentially the same thing to a 2011 DCSB Off Road. Only difference is the color.....and the wheels.....So how'd it turn out as far as tire clearance? I'm leaning heavily towards the Duratracs, but still pricing a couple other options. I like the LOOK of that tire. What 3" lift did you use?

    2011 Taco, 3" lift w/ 285-70-17's
I have to say, it's bigger than I expected, but I like how it looks. Lots of positive comments from friends, so far. My wife called it a Monster Truck. My six year old tumbled out and fell down the first morning he climbed out of it at school. It definitely drives differently - hard to describe how, but it feels higher and less agile. It rubs the front mud flaps when you turn all the way to the R or L, so I'll probably remove those (although you could probably cut away a bit of the inside part of the flap and keep them - but I haven't messed with that, yet). Haven't gauged mileage, yet. MPH changes seem to be about what is found on this page - https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=265-70r16-285-70r17 . Used a 3" ProComp lift kit. A local highly-trained off road mechanic recommended that one and it seems good. Prices: $1125 for lift kit (installed). About $1,760 for tires and wheels (they honored an $80 discount coupon from Sams for Goodyear tires - good till Aug 31). These are my wheels ($106 at Discount Tire - which was a bonus) - http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fi...c=2&rcz=85739&pc=47299&wd=17&rw=8.5&rc=AZTINT

I'll go off road this weekend and give them the real test. If there are any glitches I'll report back.

I took measurements from the ground to the driver's door threshold - after lift kit with stock wheels, and then with lift kit and Duratracs installed (see photo). I gained the expected 3" with the kit, and then gained just about 2 inches with the wheels - so 5" total. I didn't think that would feel that significant, but it does.
