So im replacing my current stock suspension with some 5100s with 885 coils. problem is in the fact that the driver side strut will not no matter what i do come off the frame. the bushing us also on the top and just will not come loose. passenger side went on without a hitch. any recommendations to fix this easily and safely? hitting it didn't work. ask my neighbors. hahaha

my thought is the top bushing is bound on the struts stud off the tomb but even with shaking i cannot seem to unbind it.

Hmm, seems odd. The bottom of the strut is bolted in and the top has 3 nuts you need to take off right? Should just slide right out, if anything the bottom of the strut might need some guidance to take out but the top should just drop out...

Ah, that makes sense. I thought you were trying to remove the entire coilover. I've never used the weight of the truck to compress the spring, I used a spring compressor. Hopefully someone else jumps in here who's tried it out.

FIXED. OLD STUFF WAS SHOT SO I GRABBED TOP STUD WITH VISE GRIP AND CRANKED IT. I was correct in my assumptions on the bushing binding on the strut itself. that being said time for another beer!
