    Hello all,

I'm hoping to get caught up on some maintenance, but aside from oil changes and new tires I'm about 100,000 miles behind. Here is my Tacoma at a high level:

    2000 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2.7L 2 wheel drive/4 cylinder - 234,000 miles

My technical competence is pretty middle of the road...I've changed oil (engine and differential) and plugs and wires on other vehicles. Can you guys help me identify where I should put my time and money first as far as maintenance? I'd love to keep my Taco going for a long time.

    Thanks all.

Oil,air, plugs, wires. Pretty much it. O2 sensors maybe, but if no codes then they're still in spec.

Flush & fill radiator fluid, Flush & fill steering fluid, perhaps run some new brake fluid / bleeding, Lubricate the ujoints on the driveshaft, Fuel filter, steering rack bushings, when was the last time the water pump was changed?, Have you inspected the frame for internal rust?

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
fluids, filters, tuneup, inspect. I would pull the rear drums and inspect brakes, climb under and look for play in the driveshaft, put the front on jack stands and inspect linkages. Flushing brakes would be nice...and good luck for the next 234k miles.

Replace inner and outer tie rods while you are doing those lower ball joints. Most of your maintenance will come from the front of the truck. You can pretty much ignore the rear of the truck for another 100k miles and be okay. Not a whole lot going on back there.
