3.4l transmission hesitation

When I put the truck in drive it takes about 3-4 seconds for it to go in gear and when it does it bucks hard. It takes even longer to go in reverse but doesn't buck really at all. I have Dakar's in the rear so could the drive shaft angle be to steep?

 

that's a sign it having a hard time picking up fluid from the pan.

check fluid levels and if they are ok then drop the pan and replace the filter

OK so its not low on fluid, would it be the filter your talking about then? Does it need replaced?

 

Are you sure you checked the fluid level correctly ? engine has to be running and transmission must be warm with the shift selector in park .

 

Yes my dad checked it as you said and he said it was full. So what do I need to do? Drop the pan and look at that filter?
