After 10 years of driving, I can officially say that I was in my first car accident. Let me just say now that all involved walked away without a scratch.

On the 95 heading south just outside Baltimore. Traffic suddenly slows very rapidly. I had to apply the brakes fairly hard but was able to keep from hitting the car in front of me. The guy behind me stands on his brakes. I can hear his tires screech and I hold on waiting for impact. Screeching stops, and I begin to breathe a sigh of relief then WHAM and violent jolt. Put the flashers on and pull to the side. I got out to check on the other people, and thats when I saw that the guy behind the guy that was behind me couldnt stop. Both of their cars destroyed. The guy that couldnt stop caved the front of his car in almost to the cab. He was the luckiest out of all of us. As for my truck, a slightly bent down bumper and a scratch on the tailgate. Hopefully no frame damage, but Ill have to get it looked at to be sure. I had to drive about 40 additional miles afterwards to get home, and everything felt normal. From what I can tell, everything still seems to line up on the body, and the tailgate can still open and close no problem, so Im keeping my fingers crossed.

No matter the outcome, I am very pleased with the way it took the impact, as it definatly could have been worse.
