    workin' on it.
Anybody ever have problems with the front face eject not working correctly? I guess it really doesn't matter specifics on the HU, but currently my 8100 will go up about 1/5th of the way, and it will allow you to hit the eject button once or twice more, moving a total of about half the full angle to open, and then closing is the same thing. The unit is just over a month old and I had it installed at a local audio shop.

So am I using my warranty or can some elbow grease probably fix it?

Not sure, but I would check the following first.

    1) You're sure it's not hitting or interfering with the faceplate/dash kit in any way? Normally takes very little to hang the open mechanism up and stop it.
    2) When it starts to open, can you take your hand and "help it" by pulling on it slightly. Does this make it open any more/less?
    3) Verify that the HU is installed straight and solid in the mounting
