No they didn't replace my frame. They bought the truck from me. I bought it for $6k and got over $11k for it. Honestly it's not bad at all. Got a rental car they payed for and got in an upgraded Tacoma with the $$ from the other one.

Oh wow good deal! How many years ago was that? Wondering if they still do that or replace the frames. Does it matter when I call if I say it's a truck I'm looking at?

I would say it is your truck and that way if they say it's still eligible for the warrant buy it and buy it for as cheap as you can. Get it registered in your name asap. Once you have the tittle go to the Toyota dealership and have it inspected.

This just happened to me in April of this year. So I'm trying to tell people it's worth your time

Update: I passed on the truck it was going to be a hassle to deal with and I couldn't get any straight answers from dealerships.

Good you passed...... read the compilation of rust another member and I linked on my post.... rust is just a trap as someone already said.
Be patient. Mine is at the shop for oil leak and sensor. We'll see what the bill came up..

I have a 1996 and the frame is shot.
I have a bunch invested trying to get her back together but no-go so far. Is Toyota doing anything with these?

Everyone seems to have a different experience and opinion. I would suggest calling the dealership first and see what they can do for you, and go from there. They will probably take all your info and put you on some type of list.

So I'm just going to continue down the patch path. I've got about 80% patched and reinforced. Ton of time and a larger chunk of money than I wanted to spend but I refuse to give up. This is literally going to sit around alot more than being driven.

In pretty deep. Feel like I'm a dope for continuing. I wish mine looked this good!! Mechanically she's fabulous. I know, same story.

5lbs of 6011 and a whole bunch of patching and reinforcement.

    Its been fun.
