Ended up going with oem rotors and pads. Still think the problem is at the front. Perhaps callipers.

Regardless the new hardware will be installed.

I should be able to clean up the caliper shims and pins. Is there other maintenance work I can do for callipers?

The drivers side caliper was seized. So instead of trying to make the old calipers work new calipers were installed.

They are Napa auto remanufactured powder coated black.

The Tacoma has new calipers, rotors and pads.

Just curious what brake feel I should expect with the new hardware?

Right now there is a slight soft spot with one pump of the brake pedal.

The Tacoma brakes are slightly squishy overall. Did you make sure everything was bled out properly? I know it's a silly question but even a tiny bit of air in the cylinder can cause strange brake behavior that is expensive to fix.

What is the correct procedure to bleed brakes with new calipers?

It's a two person operation and I think you have to start from the drivers side rear working in a circle until you get to the drivers side front. TBH I've never had to bleed the brakes in the Tacoma but I have heard that getting air in the master cylinder of the 2nd generation Tacoma is a hard fix. Hopefully a pro can chip in here.

Ok. Thanks. I am interested to know more.

We definitely didn't do anything with rear brakes. (drums)

Simply bleed both calipers passenger side first then divers side.
