My 3rd member tore apart on the high way and took the rear end housing with it when it went. I've picked up a new complete 3rd member built with 4.88 gears from east coast gears, but I need a new rear end housing with axles.

I have a 07 prerunner 4 door long bed automatic. With this rear end off an extended cab manual transmission fit. I don't have e locker and neither does this rear end.

Thanks for the help and please excuses my ignorance,

Yup any 2005-2015 V6 6Lug axle will fit. Even one with E locker would. If you got the Elocker type you would just need to wire it up.

Lol, lets just say user error. Definitely my dumb ASS fault . I had a leak and would fill every once and a while, well I forgot to add and ran it dry. Its really bad. I'll post some pictures when I rip it down.
    Thanks for the clarification.

Lol nope the rear end was a champ and definitely can take some abuse. If I learned anything it Toyota makes a hell of a rear end that can run on very little fluid just not bone dry on the interstate at 70 mph!

The non e-locker third member is an 8.4 and the e-locker third is 8". You bought the 8.4 from ECGS?

Then, if that rear end you are looking at getting is a "non-elocker", it'll fit. There are two different tacoma rear ends, 8.4 and 8".
They have the descriptions for those on ECGS's website.

Then you will need a non elocker housing..... they are slightly different and will not just bolt up.

Just make sure what size 3rd member you have as the stock Pre-runner housing is an 8" unit and the non locker equipped newer Tacoma housings are 8.4". Not sure about the company you bought your third from, but there are E-locker and non E-locker 8" thirds available out there. You can modify a std. 8" housing to work with an E-locker, but to the best of my knowledge you can't swap 8 & 8.4's 3rds in their respective housings.
