    Hello,
I am looking for a cap for my 2009 AC TRD OR. I figure Leer are easy to get and there are quite a few dealers locally. Prices are high in Canada the starting for the R is about $1600 and the XR is about $1900.
I am going to get it without side windows for added security when it comes to parking in a more urban setting (like where I hang my hat). But I am trying to figure out what the major differences are between the R and XR. I understand that the windows differ but is there any structural, mounting or fitment differences between the two?.
    Thanks,

The 100Ris pretty. Basic no frills. With the XR, it's got the nicer frameless rear door, and the option of adding keyless entry that unlocks with your factory key fob. I just ordered a 100XR Saturday, should be here in 2-3 weeks. Most recommedations say go for the removable front window so you can clean, so I did.

    Thanks for the replies.
The XR frameless window is the primary allure? Is it worth $300-400 more or is it just looks?
The 100RCC is the commercial version of the 100R. What difference is there asides from the side windows (which is an option on all the caps).
    Thanks again for the replies.

100RCC is the same as the 100R with the exception of it being reinforced to be able to support more weight I believe.

I have been pricing the shells out. I think a RCC makes the most sense and is not terrible price wise. With the included headliner and the Leer deal for the free sliding fold down window it works out to be a similar price to the 100R.

So the upgrade from the 100R to the 100RCC wasn't that much more of a price difference?
I just ordered a 100R but I was considering the 100RCC just so I could handle more weight if needed.
The dealer said the 100RCC cost "much more"

It didn't seem that much. The quote was as follows. So once you discount the second item by the $162 it works out to be less. I am assuming the quote is correct and working off their numbers.

    100R - $1706.00
    -No Side Windows -$25.00
    -Removable Front Sliding Window $162.00
    -Headliner $162.00
    = $2005.00 + Tax

    100RCC - $1863
    -No Side Windows is Standard
    -Removable Front Sliding Window $162.00
    -Headliner Standard
    = $2025 + Tax

That was the lowest base price. The other quotes have been around $2000-$2150 for the RCC and $1600-1800 for the R. Wether or not they are correct prices is another matter. I am going to go with it.

OZ off the thread topic I know, but do you have the D29XL on your truck because of your shell, or if you don't do you wish you did? Just curious as I'm getting that OME lift soon.

    Get the 100R.

I have the 100XR and although the frame less window looks nice its a PITA in actual use. It doesn't open as high as the frameless window (opens up to about level) and I end up hitting my head on it fairly often. Also it has two latches that are spring loaded instead of the two handles that rotate to lock; the latches don't always lock and need lubricant quite often to keep them functioning properly. and to top it off one of mine is rusting like crazy while the other one looks fine (not sure why).

Finally it is easy to break into, all you need is to slide something between the window and the tailgate and put tension on the cable to get it to unlatch.

I currently just have the regular Dakars but plan on adding the d29xl after I go up in the front a little

OZ-T. With the stock leafs (4leaf) did you notice any sag. I plan on going with 5100s with a AAL shortly. But does the extra couple of hundred pounds of fibreglass bug the shitty springs down much?
