Hey guys, I just made this account to ask this question and join the community. I'm 16 and just bought my first car (2000 tacoma). I have almost no experience with tacomas or cars in general but I'm very excited to learn.
I have noticed when I turn my truck off that I hear a hissing sound. I investigated it and the sound was fluid (no idea what kind) leaking out of a hole thing (see pictures) and onto a pipe that is hot enough the boil the fluid and make the noise. I also noticed that this pipe is a bit rusty (probably due to the leak over time?). I was wondering if there is anything I should do to change this. Thanks. Sorry if I sound like an idiot (I am).

Okay sorry for my ignorance. I'm fairly sure fluid is supposed to drain from there. Would there be any issue with me attaching a tube to re route the drippage to make it not drip onto that pipe?

    My guess,
That is the ac condensor dripping onto the exhaust. There was probably once a small hose that was there to drain the water away. I wouldn't worry too much, but if it bugs you then find a size of rubber hose at the hardware store and buy a foot and move the drip over to the outside. Just make sure it keeps draining.

Yes that is the condensation drain from the AC. Mine drip directly onto my exhaust as well. I kind of like it like that since its easy to tell that it isn't clogged.
