Has anyone in the Hillsborough County area gotten work done from these guys? Im looking at getting some work done to my 09 Taco when I come home for leave from Afghanistan in Nov and I haven't heard much about them.

Wasn't interested in them because of the name. Only interested because they are a local shop in my town. But as far as work, im looking at replacing the exhaust system and adding a CAI. Im thinking about adding a lift to it as well not quite sure if I want to do a body lift or a suspension lift and adding Bilstein 5100's. theirs aslo a recall out right now for the rear leaf spring for my 09 but no remedy yet. if they don't have one by the time I come home I might have that replaced if possible im also looking at replacing the stock radio with something after market or replace the head unit as a whole with one from a newer Taco. There's a couple of others like an oil catch can that I may just do it in my garage.I still have some time to decide as I am currently in Afghanistan and wont be home till the beginning of Nov.

yep i figured. don't know how mechanically inclined you are but alot of that stuff you could do yourself maybe. I wouldn't touch the radio...i always screw up electrical shit. but the lifts are pretty easy if you have the tools. just about any ole muffler shop can do the muffler and the cai aint bad to do yourself either. STAY AWAY FROM BODY LIFTS!!!!! they look hideous imho. but whatever you do as long as your happy with it thats all that counts brother...be safe and good luck. if ya need any lift questions/help gimme a holler.

In all honesty im not very mechanically inclined at all. But why stay away from body lifts?

For 1 they raise the center of gravity for an already swb truck...not good. Second they just look horrible with the lowered bumper and the dead space between the frame and truck. Attempts to cover the dead space look like someone trying to polish a turd in my opinion. Dude there are a ton of suspension options for tacomas and prerunners that are really cool and depending how high you want to go. You can spend a ton of money or a little money. The best lift for prerunners are spindles imo. couple those with an aal and 5100's you have a 3-4" lift for around 1,000 bucs. Keep in mind billies only go up to 2.5"s. Pro comp makes a true 3" lift but dude the ride sucks. I started on a pro comp lift and took it off after a year for spindles. anyway, check around this forum and with some of the guys in your area. anyone here will answer questions for ya and point you in the right direction.

I would at the most want to go with a 2.5-3 inch lift would the spindles and a aal and 5100's be enough or overkill? and what do you recommend as far as the spindles and AAL

changing a radio is easy as cut and crimp. The wiring kits they make for our truck make installing an aftermarket radio take about 25 mins or less. Super easy. Pull out the stock radio, cut the wires, strip and put a connector on each wire you just cut, take the same color wire from the aftermarket wire harness and crimp it to the same color wire from the truck, after all wires hooked up, plug in the aftermarket harness into the back of whatever new head unit you get, done.

maxtrac lift spindles would net you about 3.5 in the front. they say 4" spindles but they are only 3.5. I have CST lift spindles which are 3.5 and camburg make a tru 4" lift spindle. The big difference is price. Maxtracs are 500$, CST are 6-700$ and camburgs are a solid 1K. Now here is the thing about spindles. You can actually keep your stock set up. That means you can keep your stock UCA's, shocks, springs all dat crap. most people change it cause they want a little more lift and performance. so how much you want to spend on the front is up to you. Now to level that out most people go with a 3" all pro leaf or OME dakars. either one is an excellent choice. The all pro's run about 350-400 (sorry I forget) and not sure how much the Dakars run. anyway when you do that you will need to go with some ext. travel 5100's or some other variation and some extented brake lines. that willl get you pretty much level with a quality lift on a decent, not break the bank budget and it can all be done in your garage or someone elses with some help.

Nice thats a great set up. clark tire here in Ocoee can do it, or you can do it in your garage, my garage, anyone's garage really. Just get some beer and Pizza. Also, you may need ext. travel Billies for the rear and ext. steel brake lines for the rear also, but I am not 100% on that.

@k9cop ya.....I don't think im gonna go their to get work done....woke up this morning to this message in regards to the setup I was looking for with the 5100's on all 4 with the 885's and OME Dakar leaf pack

    "
Finally got word from ARB on those parts. OME coils can not be installed on non OME struts. So the complete OME suspension kit includes coils, struts, rear springs, rear shocks, ubolts and all hardware.

    $2250 + tax

That's parts, install, alignment, shop supply."

Just order what you want because you will get it cheaper also I know a lot of vendors here offer military discounts!
And have a shop install it for you! My local dealer ship installs lifts believe it or not and their prices are really competitive! Also my local mechanic can also install them so you definitely don't have to go to a specialty shop to get it done.
