I realize that prices vary between locations but I'm curious how much people are paying preorder for a TRD Sport DLCB? Is everyone that's preordering simply paying MSRP?

I'm ready to approach my local dealership with a preorder but I don't know how I should approach it. Should I be aiming for lower than MSRP and if so, by how much? Just need a little help from you guys. Thanks ahead of time.

I've read some people have preordered theirs and production on theirs has started, so they must've gone to the dealership and ordered it. Question is, how much was agreed upon?

There is no agreement, you just pay a deposit to guarantee the truck you want.

Thanks, I guess that's the route I'll go, but it almost guarantees they can make you pay any price though doesn't it?

Pre orders will get hammered on price. I don't see the need for dealers to discount those who are emotionally and financially involved at this point. Went through the same thing on MX5 forum regarding the new ND. People are paying MSRP plus "Doc Fees" I won't pay doc fees. They would have to lower the cap cost by the amount of "doc fees" if I am paying MSRP+ Doc Fees plus, MSRP it is an adjusted market price.

One of the reasons I just went ahead and chose my ideally optioned truck in a new 15 . I can wait a year for the 16s to build dealer inventory or find a used one.

Doc fees here at Ford are a whopping $500. Toyota $349 Florida is much worse, They can charge up to $1000 fr Doc Fees

From what I've read, it's a refundable deposit, so you're not locked in.

I'll be talking to my dealer today but in previous order discussions (I was previously thinking about a Tundra) the deposit was to get it and hold it with no commitment to buy without a chance to thoroughly inspect and drive the vehicle first.
There can't be a purchase contract without a purchase price. This isn't ObamaCare.

Man, I've gone through all the trucks and cars back and forth, Tundra, Ford 150, Nissan Frontier, Subaru Outback, Chevy Colorado, but in the end, my heart still wants a Tacoma...

I have been corresponding with a dealer about a 2016, and the pricing he is estimating is anywhere from $1200 to $1500 below MSRP before TTL depending on price and option packages. I suspect most of the room he has is coming from the installed option packages. I doubt they can or will do much at all with the base price of the truck. So if you aren't looking at much in the way of installed options, I wouldn't expect a big drop below MSRP.

This is correct... the demand will be so great that anything off MSRP is a good deal if you want/need the truck now. I also have an agreement in below MSRP, with the doc fee already agreed to, just gave him the OK to order today, said it would be between 60-90 days.

They still will not give you a price. If you are a Costco Member they will give you Invoice plus 500. Not a bad deal. Could save you up to 3K off MSRP.

Wait what? Any Toyota dealership? Where's that in writing? I'll go to Costco right now and sign up for 100 bucks to save 3k

I would bet you that offer only applies to current dealer inventory. But who knows.

I people would just lay low and let them sit on some inventory for a while then 10% off MSRP would be reasonable.

I guess it depends on where you live. From readings on here, some have pre-ordered in Colorado and got the dealer to agree to $1k off MSRP. I have talked to a couple of dealers here in SoCal and they will be sold at MSRP for the first 3-6 months and then may be discounted. I agreed to MSRP when I put my DP on the DCLB TRD Sport.

Im ready to jump in a new tacoma but Im not going to rush it,I have an 07 tundra thats been paid off for few months now that I will sell prior buying a tacoma,so I'll wait til they are fully available at dealerships and keep enjoying my months without a loan payment.
