Not that I have the money for it, but it would've been nice if TRD made the supercharger for the dual VVT-i engine in the FJ.

They must be dimwits otherwise they'd be in line to buy the diesel colorado/canyon. Now that's a truck for mans with man engines and man brakes.

Wow what a bunch of fucktards around here. So, Toyota keeps some of the things the same and it is a problem. If Toyota changed too much, then we would be hearing all kinds of shit in here about why they fixed a truck that was not broken. As far as the aftermarket parts are concerned, we would probably get complaints about that. Just like when Apple created the iPhone 5 and everyone had to buy new chargers when they converted from the 4.

At least this thread was void of the criticism that the truck is not a clone of the Tundra but at the Tacoma price.

You might be right, but we might never know the true reason behind not releasing a supercharger for the dual VVT-i, since TRD did work on a prototype unit, but then no news was heard of prior to the news about the discontinuation of the FJ in North America.

If I could afford it in the near future, I'd like to keep the FJ and also rock a 3rd gen Tacoma as the daily. It's hard to say at this point, since no one knows what's gonna happen in the world by next year's time.

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
It can not be Tundra clone. Tundra comes with rear disc brakes, and it does not have dashboard looking like 80's boombox with a color scheme of Kia Soul. Also tundra does not come with minivan engine.
    Clone of Sienna? maybe.
Clone of iQ more likely considering dash, cute miniature engine and drum brakes

Only thing they seem to be pushing is the crawl control (perhaps since the rest of the improvements are mediocre) , which Subaru and others have been using something similar for years. Crawl control...meh big deal...

Where is my 30 mpg Tacoma? That is what I have been waiting for....instead we get crawl control and social media bullshit...of yeah, a narcissistic GoPro mount...greaaaaat...hope the next one comes with a fucking selfie stick.[/QUOTE]

But what if you need to scale a fucking skyscraper..??

I can't take it anymore. Idiotic non-productive bullshit like what you spew in 90% of your posts poisons any of the interesting discussion around here you get near. Ever notice that you have never been helpful and instead incessantly disagree with people all the time....over anything, everything, and yet nothing? You probably don't realize it, but you are "that guy".

I give up. Officially only my second "ignored" user ever.

It's perfectly reasonable to think that Toyota and Sweers would have a working relationship with the aftermarket community. Who do you think builds and fabs the trucks they race in baja? IIRC the TRD Pro that raced a few years back was built by a vendor on here.

And yes, the most important thing from that article was the 8.7" rear end. More beef where it counts.
From what I've seen on T4R, TRD was developing a SC for the engine but it couldn't pass the long term testing so weaker internals is certainly possible. Gadget (of URD) did/does have a prototype of a URD model on his 2010 4runner but I don't think anything has come of it. I haven't seen him on his build page over on 120 in years. I want to say that they had trouble with something involving the ECU.
