First rain in a while here in TX and past couple mornings my brakes stick a bit when first engaged. They then loosen up as I apply them a couple more times. I had this issue with my first GMC, and Ford trucks. My Subaru never had any sticky braking issue, ever. I was really hoping my Tacoma wouldn't do this. It's really annoying being caught off guard by sticky brakes just because it rained. Is this common with your Tacomas?

Wonder if its the drums? in the rear. My Subaru had disc brakes all four wheels. I need to learn more about the Tacoma braking components obviously....

I noticed when I first bought my '13 that the brakes seemed to catch, and some time after they seemed to need to be depressed even further in order to brake. Everything seems to have settled since then. 33k in mileage now.

Every time its washed I'm prepared for life support power to be routed to the brakes at the first stop.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Again. How many times are we going to point out that the Tacoma is about the only modern vehicle on the damn planet to still have drum brakes. Sigh. Since before the 1930's drum brakes have been the trustworthy choice of the automotive industry. Sure, as far back as the 1950's high end cars started showing up with disk brakes and even cheap cars land trucks like the Ford Focus and F150 are all disk brake Tacoma continues this long and time honored tradition of using drum brakes and I am damn proud of the reduced stopping distance, brake fade/overheating, and other benefits of the drum brake. Ahhhh.
