Every Toyota and Lexus I have, and have owned since 2010 called for synthetic oil. Recently sold 2011 4RUNNER that has same engine (4.0L) that is in the Tacoma. Stated use synthetic and change every 10,000 miles. My two Lexus vehicles are the same. Do you guys used the dino oil and change every 5,000 or do you go synthetic route for the Tacoma.

I do dino at 5k. its what the manual calls for. Out of warranty, I would prob run mobil 1 at 7500k intervals. I put 12k miles per year on my truck, and don't tow heavy, so I'm ok with dino.

lol Okay as a novice I should point out it took me a moment to figure out what "dino oil" was. Conventional motor oil derived from crude oil that's been buried in the earth since the age of dinosaurs.

Since Toyota is paying for my service for the first 25k miles I'm letting them do it with their conventional @ 5k.

My 2005 Camry SE V6 called for conventional as well.
