i removed my battery about a month ago to access the drivers side headlight bulb in my 2014. Sitting on the white plastic tray under the battery was a blue liquid. It sorta looked like wiper fluid. Same viscosity. I smelled it, no smell. Not really greasy, maybe very slightly if at all. I decided to just leave it there so they could look at it on my 10k service, which I did today.

The dealer first asked if I'd sprayed down the engine (no I did not- and if I did I wouldn't have done it with blue liquid). Then he said it was probably wiper fluid (it's been there a month- doesn't wiper fluid evaporate?). It's been 100°+ under the hood every day for two months. And the fluid tank is on the opposite side anyway. Then the service manager said he and the techs didn't know what it was. He said they cleaned it up and will look again at my 15k service.

Can anyone venture a guess as to what this might be? The only ones under the hood since I've had the truck have been me and the dealer at the 5k service. Clearly, whatever it is does not evaporate. What other blue fluids are under the hood? Antifreeze???

My guess would be battery acid which is leaking out from under your battery. Was it a lot? I have seen it happen before.

not a lot of liquid. maybe a couple teaspoons at the most. i didn't think battery acid was blue, but maybe it is in this battery. I did think of that, as that would make the most sense. but the color threw me.

if more appears, certainly that's the culprit.

Sometimes corrosion on the terminal is blue, but not battery acid. I buy battery acid and use it for tanning hides. I sometimes have water leak from the top caps of my battery, but that would evaporate. No help here...
