I'm currently running a 2004 Tacoma SR5 V6 Offroad, it has Toytec ultimate 2.5" up front and dakar leafs in the rear. Right now I have a set of 265/70r17 and would like to upgrade to a 33" without getting new rims. It seems the only decent mt tire in the 255/80r17 is the BFG's KM2 but they are 33.3" tall, will this be too high for the Ultimate lift kit? Im not a big fan of wheel spacers but should I go with a wider (285) but shorter (32.8") tire with 1"-1.25" spacers? I've spent years waiting and researching this, just making sure I do it right the first time on wanted some first hand experience. Thanks

Ultimate decision is yours, both reasonable. I looked at the 255/85/16 km2 but ended up going with a 285/75/16 fierce attitudes a s 1.25 spacer. The 255 are skinnier and so slightly better road mpg from what I understand. The main reason I went fierce was that the tire had really good reviews and touted about 15-20 k more miles. I can honestly say that this is true for me, I have only gone down to about 13/32 from 18 after 30k miles (keep them balanced and rotated). Another important issue is that the wider tire will provide some added stability while driving on the streets, hence less drifting. Adding the spacers gave me a 2.5 inch wider wheel stance for stability which could also apply to the 255,s though you may end up doing some cutting on the wheelwells. The taller side wall and skinner will feel more drifty. It would be nice if the fierce came in a 255, i,d try it.
    Good luck. Happy decision making.

Thanks Willie, I think I'm just going to rock the 285/70r17's with the spidertrax 1.25" hub centric spacers. More options in tires and it'll change up my stance for a change without having to buy new rims. Thanks for the input, so hard to pull the trigger and go for it with so many options!
