If anyone is on the fence about these, here you go:

I chose Jumper's LED's. Here is the bulb so you can see them with in a little more detail, it's also worth noting that they have a TIR type reflector:

Here is a comparison. The first image is the LED, the second image is the factory halogen bulb - notable difference:

The resistors need to be mounted on metal. I wanted to put mine out of the way and have symmetry. Here is where I mounted mine:

Here are a couple images of the truck buttoned up:

These LED's are shipped with two resistors and four self tapping #7x7/16 mounting screws. If you lose the screws, it's nothing to worry about. You can get a whole pack that includes a bit at Home Depot for under $6.00. This way you can lose many many screws.

That's that - more efficiency and sweet LED's.

I changed my interior lighting to LED as well. My vanity lights I also got from Jumper's. Here is what those look like:

I am not on the fence, as I have installed LED DRL's in my Tacoma (disclaimer: although similarly configured, 3157CK, not sourced from Jumper). Recently, during a long drive, my LED DRL's were on for 10 straight hours and failed, I believe due to the heat generated by the LED's. The seller replaced them. Since then, I have another failure after having the DRL's on for an extended period of time (again replaced by the seller). As you can see from the OP's first pic, the LED's are attached to an aluminum heat sink for heat management. I now just use the turn signal /park functions and leave the DRL's off. I also have LED interior and rear signal lighting. The technology certainly exists to produce ultra reliable LED lighting, but my experience with DRL's on for extended hours, suggests to me that producers (Chinese) have not quite mastered heat management issues yet.

    That's a bummer.

I've had a few sets of Rigid's fail on me...

The heat sink is nice on the Jumper's. I don't know long your drive was to make a comparison but I can tell you that I made a about a 24 hour drive last Tuesday and I have the same length of drive on the way back in a few days. If I have any issues, in the interest of disclosure, I will share them.

My VLEDS are alive and well and run for hours at a time with no issue.
