    Greetings from Montana!

I just bought a 2014 black Tacoma 4X4 with the TRD off-road package. Many thanks to you guys for all the helpful threads on lift kits, sound systems, etc. I've been lurking for a while now and figured it was time to post. Here are my plans with the truck:
    • Install BDS 6 inch suspension lift kit with Fox coilovers (and ditch the rear blocks and go with new springs from Alcan). A lot of people frown upon DB lifts but I've weighed the pros and cons and made up my mind.
    • New 18" rims and 33's. I know a lot of guys go with 35's but I don't want to re-gear or trim the fenders.
    • Replace the factory head unit/speakers (and add an amped 10" JL sub) for better sound.
    • Cold air intake for potential boost in power.
It's going to take Alcan 4 weeks to build the springs so the lift kit is going to have to wait until mid August. I'll post some pics when it's all done. With the lift kit, rims/tires, and sound system, all in all it's going to cost about $12K.

I'll be putting the factory nav head unit up for sale if anyone's interested. Anyone know what those go for? It's the non-JBL version. Also, I'll have no need for the factory suspension or factory wheels/tires.

    Cheers!
    Ronnie

hello from california, so i bought a 2013 tacoma TRD off road package, i do light some light off road ( going to the desert to shoot, beach/ camping, etc) was wondering if anyone could recommend a suspension for my truck keeping in mind the light use it might have. I also want to retain the capabilities to put stuff in the bed with out it bottoming out.( i read on thread that changing the rear suspension might cause that).
    any tips/advice? i'm new to tacoma's

If you ditch the weak-sauce rear blocks that most suspension lifts come with and go with custom springs, you shouldn't have to worry about putting stuff in the bed. How high do you want to go? Do you want the lift just for looks or do you want it for performance?

Looks sick! Sometimes I wish I would have just gone with 6" instead of 3". I ended up having to trim some fender because the front wheel was catching when turned hard left. Keep it up! Get some mud on that puppy
