I have been planning on 285s but it would be great not dealing with rubbing with 255s! I also for whatever reason thing the 255 ST Maxx look better than the other tires made in this size. How have they been on the street? I love my nittos but I'm getting a little tired of my mud terrains with every day driving.
    Thanks man!

I can't say enough good things about the ST Maxx, and they do look great in the 255 sizes. One of my buddies commented to me that my 255's looked like 285's. Other tires like the KM2's look weird to me in a 255 - the sidewalls balloon out or something. As far as driving on the ST Maxx, they're super smooth and the road noise is much more subdued compared to other tires that I've tried in the past. Some reviewers have said that they can feel the sidewall flex on hard corners, but in a lighter truck like the Tacoma it is a non-issue. Off road they air down really well and have great traction. I usually run them around 15-18 psi depending on terrain and have never rolled a bead. And @Chux over here went wheeling with his buddies and was the only one to make it up a muddy hill without assistance. He was the one who turned me on to the ST Maxx actually.

No complaints about the sub, and with the right songs (usually rap/hip-hop that I never listen to) it can get really loud. If you're looking to blow your windows out with bass, you might consider dual 10" subs (more surface area), but the 13" does pretty well for how thin it is compared to traditional subs.

Beefed up the front end with more Total Chaos parts over the weekend. Over the past few months a few tire shops have told me that they couldn't get the passenger corner into alignment, which turned out to be due to a bent spindle. So in order to prevent this from happening again, I got new spindles and Total Chaos swaybar-compatible spindle gussets (they have an extra gusset plate for the steering knuckle). I also went a little crazy while I was at it and got Total Chaos race uniball lower control arms.

Huge thanks to @lotsoftoys and @toy.tech21 for taking time out of their weekend to put it all in for me!

Loving it so far! As you said, there is a little more lean when cornering because of the poly bushings so I need to get used to that, and the truck does pull slightly to the right (probably due to the tires), but it's not as noticeable as it was before. Certainly it takes less effort to keep the truck straight compared to before.

Not too hard if the eccentrics aren't siezed. Just takes time to modify the steering stops and what not. We also ran beads behind each tab so they will never bend.

Over the weekend the truck got a bit of a boost with the TRD supercharger and URD 2.85" stealth pulley!

Even though I'm at altitude, the difference in acceleration is quite noticeable. Getting up to highway speed isn't the chore that it once was, and I can easily accelerate to pass someone quickly when needed. The whine is addicting, but I need to keep that under control in town because the cops here are quite aggressive. I can't wait to see how it does climbing up the mountain passes now (and neither can my wife!)

The supercharger was OK at first but pulls a lot better now that the ECU has adapted to it. Before the supercharger I could top out at maybe 85mph on the highway to pass someone, and it took some time to get up to that speed. Now I can get from 80-95mph quickly, and driving up mountain passes is less of a chore - no more dropping down to 3rd gear just to maintain 45mph on I-70 going up to Eisenhower tunnel. I don't have a boost gauge installed yet so I don't know how much boost I'm getting, and the 2.85" pulley was on it from day one so I don't know how much improvement is there over stock. It doesn't drive like a race truck and I wasn't expecting it to, but the acceleration is a lot better and the whine still puts a big smile on my face every time.

Latest addition to the build is a hi-clearance rear bumper from @CBI Offroad Fab. I won the base bumper at the Rock Therapy 2016 raffle, and the discount allowed me to add some custom bits to it:

    - Dual swing outs: Tire carrier on the driver side, Rotopax/Hi-lift mount on the passenger side.
    - Backup lights (Rigid SR-M)
    - Bumper sides and tire carrier built to fit 35" tires in the future

I just have the stock spare thrown on there for now. Waiting on another 255/85/16 Cooper ST MAXX to come in, then I'll have it mounted on a spare SCS SR8 wheel to match the wheel/tire combo I'm running now.

Stock bumper removed. I need to get a new trailer plug since I busted mine on Top of the World at Rock Therapy.

I have to thank @teamhypoxia, @Squeaky Penguin, and @sean266 for being there to help install this thing. The rest of the pics are courtesy of @teamhypoxia

    Making the first cut

@Squeaky Penguin finally seeing for himself why second gens are better, or breaking something. Probably both.

Not sure what I'm doing here but I think I may have been pretty buzzed.

I still need to hook up the lights, move the CB antenna mount from the tailgate to the swing out, and track down a license plate light.

I seem to remember you also giving it a good kick, and putting your biceps to good use opening the swing outs after @teamhypoxia got them stuck.
