Aftermarket warranty... Worth it?

I got the warranty with my truck. $1400. It was a dumb move. What was I betting on? I was betting on a catastrophic failure of something between 36,000 miles and 75,000 miles, costing at least $1500, just to break even! Stupid. When we bought my wife's car the finance guy was so good he had my wife half way talked into it. I sent his ass out of his own office and then softly but firmly explained to my wife how it was a scam and if we were going to walk away over the $500 between our figure and the salesman's, there was no way in hell I was going to let her spend $1500 on a stupid gamble. Completely not worth it. Some people use the extended warranty. Some people win the lottery. Neither is a smart gamble.

 

They insisted I hear the shpeel as part of their Dog and Pony show when I bought the truck. Now, fuck off. Thanks.
