My girlfriend's paint on her car is a disaster.

I want to wash, clay bar and wax her car (yes I know a polish is necessary but I'm not set up for that yet).

Her hood has a clear bra installed on it. I have no idea of the brand.

How do I handle this? Obviously do not clay or wax the clear bra, but is there anything I can do to it to spruce it up?

No clue but I would research clear bras and see what manufacturers are saying about keeping them "spruced" up.

I install them everyday. If you have lots of bug stains on it, order some Xpel cleaner. Otherwise soap and water is fine for it. Don't bother using a clay bar on it, but wax it for sure just like you would anything else. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I just ordered a brand new 2015 Tacoma. I am going to start detailing the car myself -- buy the DA polisher, use the right chemicals etc. etc. I want to practice on my wife's car. She has a silver 2002 Passat that has had a clear bra since new. If I go to town with cleaning, nanoskin (intead of clay bar), good sealant.... is the part of her hood under the clear bra going to look different from the rest of the car? The Passat is in "taken good care of, probably waxed once or twice in its life, maybe never".
