3.4 4x4, won't pass Arizona Emissions. Fuel vapor sensor is the culprit. Searched high and low, all dealers. Can't find one. Any suggestions?

Part has been discontinued.... Look on eBay for one off a corrola or similar car. The last few didgits of the part # will be diff, but as long as the first set of numbers match the part will work. Only thing that changed was how it mounts.

Could try cleaning it too, with sensor cleaner. I bet you'll find it to have dirt in there.

bry838, thanks for info. Will try cleaning it with the sensor cleaner. The first set of numbers that you mentioned that must be the same in the part number, would that be 8946? Also, if checking for used part, the engine size and year of the vehicle are the most important things to keep in mind, correct?

Thanks for the help and suggestions. If you have any other idea which will help me with this problem, please let me know. This is a good truck and if I cant correct this, I will not be able to register it in Arizona, which means I'll have to get ride of it, which I do not want to do.

    Thanks, Rod

I don't remember what the deal was with the part # but I do remember one set of numbers will be same, first or last I don't remember. As for engine size I don't believe it matters at all its just sensing vapor pressures from the fuel system. The one I got was deff off a corolla and the mounting bracket was different, I just zip tied the bitch into place.

I think the numbers that are the same are the first five, 89460-. which are followed by another series of five numbers. Gonna give her a go.
    Thanks
