Advice on my spacer lift?

    I've installed a top plate spacer kit on a friends truck. That gave him 2-7/8" lift, did absolutely NOTHING to effect the ride quality, (arguably made it BETTER) and got him the tire clearance he needed for under $80. They add NO preload to the springs. We did space the bump stops by an equal amout as the thickness of the top plate spacer.

    Spring spacers are a different critter. They preload the springs and DO change the ride, and usually cost more to give a less desirable result. My friends truck gets hammered (off road) and has had no ill effects. While it isn't "the best" lift kit, it was the only way he was going to be able to afford to lift his truck at this time.
