i dint have a funny story of changing the oil on my taco, BUT, while i was putting my cams in my race car a few years back, my friend was helping me by draining my oil. i heard the ratchet going for an abnormally long time. i asked if he was ok. i got an uhhhh and i knew what was coming next. he pulled the threads out of my moroso oil pan by ignoring the righty tighty lefty loosey mantra.

Had to use a pair of huge channel locks to get the filter off one time. That was the last fram filter I ever purchased. Even after lubing the seal, it still got stuck.

Mobile 1 full synthetic for preferred brand. I buy it from Advance Auto when it goes on sale for $35 for 5 quarts with Mobile 1 filter. Plus you get a rebate for a $5 gift card :D

My father in law did this before on his wife's. He just said, well, guess I'm going back to the store.

    I'll bite...

When I was in high school, many, many, many years ago my dad had taught me how to change the oil on my Ranger. He's super OCD, so we couldn't change the oil on the driveway incase a little oil spilled. He hated the black oil spots (now as a home owner I'm the same way).

So one day I'm changing the oil on the street in fron of our driveway and I had just finished up. I had poured all the old oil into a large Tide laudry detergent bottle and was impressed with what clean a job I had done. I hadn't spilled a single drop of oil. In my zest for the moment, I jumped in my truck and drove it into the driveway, promptly driving over all 5 quarts of oil in the Tide bottle and exploding it all over our driveway. My dad now has a large black mark on his driveway to remember me by and it's still there 15 years later.

Was under my car trying to loosen the drain plug when my 13 yr. old son decided to slide up under the car right behind me to get a look. I had some gas (intestinal) and when straining a bit to loosen the drain plug, I let one rip. His face was close to my rear end and he yelled while trying to get away as fast as he could. I laughed so hard I almost peed myself.

Mobile 1 oil and filters here.

1" socket to removed the filter. And a vacume extractor from Amazon to remove the oil. No more crawling around under the truck.
