Hey guys. So I noticed a few rust spots on the truck. They're not huge spots, just a dot here and there. The biggest spot of rust isn't even the size of a dime. I'd just like to deal with the rust dots before it gets bad.
I've never dealt with rust before, so is there a way I can take of the small rust spots off and not ruin the paint?
Its really frustrating because the body is perfect with the exception of the rust spots and a bit of oxidation on the roof. I plan on trying to take the oxidation off during the weekend, so the only imperfection will be the rust dots.
Any help is appreciated as always. Thanks guys.

Tape off aroud the area of the rust, then sand the rust off. Rust reform primer, then paint with touch up paint. Remove the tape, wet sand with high number wet dry sand paper, then blend with the surrounding paint with a clear coat. Then polish untill smooth and shiny.

Its a lot of work and there are great videos on you tube about how to do it. Just take your time and paint the smallest area possible. If they are little chips just get a touch up pen and follow the directions. Take your time with the sanding and polishing because that will give you the best results.

Where are the rust spots? Pics?

As I said, they aren't really that big, I just want to take care of it before it spreads.
Knowing its a Toyota, I know I probably should take care of it soon before the whole thing is engulfed in rust lol

Yep, I drive highway everyday for my commute to work so my truck just gets blasted with little rocks from Semi-trailers from time to time. :annoyed:
So I have a few little spots with rust where the big paint chips have been exposed for almost a year...ugh

Wow. Watched the video, looks like a 5 year old could do it.
Have you used this type of pen before? In the video, the guy said that you could "prep it" and take off the rust with the pen. So, do I still need to tape off everything and sand everything down? Or do you just recommend using the pen and nothing more.

Sorry for the dumb questions, I just want to make sure.
