Wr have a 2014 jeep gc and a 15 crv and both have that little piece. I'm sure Toyota will do something similar.

They can always make the rear window big enough to crawl through (good old f150 days )

I wouldn'tin a push start. I drove one for a while and liked not having to find my keys.

But I don't mind starting it with a key either so I won't go out of my way (or spend excessive money) to have it.

If you're that dead set on the traditional key get the manual transmission, I believe it still uses a key.

With all Toyota's with smart key if the fob battery goes dead you can open the door with the manual key. To start just hold the fob up to the start switch with the toyota logo facing the switch and push the button to start. They didn't design it so if the fob battery was dead you weren't able to start it.

I've put one in a previous car. I actually removed the ignition cylinder and replaced it with relays. It never let me down.

What is it for a rental? Toyota uses sensors on the door handle to unlock the door when you go to open it, no need for the key.

I had Push Button Start and Keyless Entry in my 2014 Rogue and once I got used to not having to take the keys out of my pocket to get into the vehicle or start it I loved it, can't wait for the keyless entry and push to start in my new 2016 Limited.

One stupid thing about Toyota keyless start is that if you have two or more cars you have to carry ALL the fobs and they are heavy.

Why can it be programmable so I can program 1 fob for ALL of my cars?

    What kind of car?

Modern day ones the doors will unlock them selves if the key is in your pocket and you pull the handle.

Why do you need two keys if you're only capable of driving one at a time?

Sweet, if someone loses their FOB you can rip off two cars instead of just one...

Pretty sure the tailgate is key only. No remote.

I had a VW with the same system. Had to take out the key to open the door, then I'm left holding the key and not needing it or having anywhere to put it, except back in my pocket. Keyless push button start without smart entry is the dumbest thing.

funny, good thing my 4runner has smart key & PTS system. grab the handle door unlocks, get in close door push button to start.

all the while the key is on the carbiner on my belt loop.

sucky part, forget to put the carbiner on the belt loop, get in to PTS and all I get is a big fat idiot sign, no key fob fool :)

edit : oh if the vehicle is running and you open the door, get out and close the door/walk away, the vehicle beeps while running.

edit 2 : and it pisses off the warden when I walk away from the vehicle with my phone, Pandora dies, keep forgetting to leave the phone inside so she can listen to Pandora.

edit 3 : good thing about PTS, don't need a key to turn it on to acc/on position if I walk inside temporarily and turn off the engine.

One problem with the Smart Key system is YES you can lock your smart key in the car. This actually happened to some one with a 2012 XLE Camry. His smart key was inside the car in their garage and his wife had the other smart key in her purse. As she was getting ready to leave to go out of state, she must have accidently hit the lock button on the Smart key in her purse and locked his car. Later when he was unable to get into the car, he contacted his Toyota dealership and they said that is was impossible to do and there was nothing they could do for him. The inside cut metal key has to be ordered. I believe that he ended up having his wife overnight her smart key to him. I tried this with the XLE that I was driving at the time and sure enough you can lock the smart key in the car with the other smart key.

My Nissan Juke wouldn't lock with a key in the car...

    Toyota issue?
