I don't know about a difference but at the end that poor reporter truly looks terrified going down the hill using crawl control. He looked like he was ready to get out before he finally let go of the brakes.

When they say they raised the hood I think they mean the angle. So if you hindge the hood from the windshield, you would raise the front end of the hood by "30mm". At least that's way I interpret it.

I also caught the guy say that they added a modified 2.7l... I wonder what they added.... o_O Maybe he screwed up??

I also think it's funny how they don't do much editing of the video but it's all cool. Good info for a first time viewer.

doors look exactly the same but who knows, maybe difference is so small that it is negligible.

I believe they made the window smaller. Thus, the door is raised by a half inch because the window is smaller. #backtomycave

They raised the hood, window line, and the bed line all by roughly the same amount so the beltline looks the same as the 2nd gen. Overall it is a small amount so it's barely perceptible to the eye. I don't think i would have noticed if no pointed it out.

The 2TR was modified with Dual VVT-i. It didn't change the overall HP or torque so I suppose that will translate into better low end torque. Toyota claims it has lower friction internal components too.

He also said nothing was carried over besides a seat belt bracket. I would take what he says with a grain of salt.

How is the door raised when the same part number is used for the access cab rear door skin and window?

Cause Mr. Sweers Im beginning to think either a)acutally knows little about the truck b)trying to sell the public on it being a new truck c)is an idiot. But these are all assumptions.

Unless he's just talking about how the entire truck was raised 1/2", so the doors also went up with the rest of the truck.

Either way, the door and glass dimensions remain the same, including where the body line is.

Hmmm... so this means there is still no definitive answer as far as the doors changing then. Could it be that the ground clearance is up .5 inches making the door .5 inches higher?

The rear door skin on the access cab carried over. The front door skin is difference as you can see from the character line. Maybe they used new, wider window stripping to cover the 12mm difference but allow the access cab to use the new front door skin and the old rear door skin.

Actually, I just read the comment again. They probably just moved the door mounting points up a half inch when they reworked the cab for the new materials. Effectively, they dropped the floor of the cab by 12mm. That wouldn't mean you couldn't use the old door skins.

Looking at the 2016 specs I don't see #'s showing the whole truck was raised.

The door raising statement came from "Seat Buckle" Mike Sweers..... enough said.

He really lost credibility after that statement and all us fanboys started picking apart the new truck.
