How, why? So they did something more than... nothing... but they couldn't squeeze any more power out of it, despite other 2.7L engines made by Toyota right now producing more? I don't understand.

The belt line along the truck as been raised 1/2 in, its noticeable to me at least. The bed has been raised the window lines have been raised and the hood line has been raised

Sweers is pointing/moving his hand along the bottom of the rear window in the video while he makes the 1/2 inch statement. So I assume he is saying the window size is reduced by 1/2 an inch while the outside sheet metal on the door is raised 1/2 an inch (my interpretation)

Considering the information you gave above - to me part #'s don't lie.

So only logical conclusion - "Seat Buckle" Sweers knows sh!t about the own truck he is "chief engineer" of.

If the side windows are shorter that was already a problem to me with the Gen2, the short windows and low roofline. Compared to a Gen1 Tacoma they were about two inches shorter it was irritating to me especially once you put rainguards on. Maybe it's just me but I like tall side windows like the Gen1 and the pre-Tacoma trucks.

In that video he says that the sunroof is a segment first. I could be wrong, but isn't a sunroof available on the Frontier?

I'm not familiar with the interviewer but he is terrible. He continuously downturns any technical info during the segment. For example, when talking about the aerodynamics on the side, he asks the brilliant question of "how big are the tires?", interrupting the design considerations LOL. Earlier he starts about the growth in the midsize, compact?, and full size trucks then asks the important question of "let's talk about the grille". LOL How is that related to your setup regarding the changing market.
Edit: Wow. I finished watching... I don't think this fella has ever driven a truck before, let alone off road. The passenger/guide looks frightened throughout the off road segment while the interview almost seems to not realize he is driving a truck in the forest at -37 deg decent.

Has been for years. Actually many things that the Tacoma is offering for the first time in the 2016 like dual zone climate control and mpg reading the Nissan had it in place for awhile.

Goes to show it does not take much to be an "automobile journalist". Long as you tow the company line you're in!

    Interesting observation.
Maybe this is a good first impression about how stable the crawl control is.

Even a noob can go down a cliff and still be confident on the steering wheel. They can then call it "off roading".

Yah I forgot about the disc brakes (remember Toyota doesn't include those in the Tacoma because its for off roading and they can get damaged by dirt and mud, while the FJ and 4 runner have them because....well I guess they are not meant for off roading.....) and power seats plus not to mention heated seats and mirrors plus a backup sonar.

Shhhh.... We don't talk about the Frontier, here. It's just the Tacoma, GM Twins, and apparently the F150 for some reason?

According to Seatbelt Mike, the Tacoma is first small pickup to use an internal combustion engine. Segment first.
