The cruise light on my 2007 Toyota Tacoma will not turn on when i try to engage the cruise control. As a result, the cruise control is completely unresponsive. I looked at the 2 fuses under the hood and the 1 fuse under the kick panel that relate to cruise control, and they appear fine. I removed the cruise control assembly from the steering wheel to see if there was any broken wires or something disconnected. Everything appeared ok. I noticed this after I had my truck serviced for an oil change at a Toyota dealership. Does anybody have any ideas what the problem might be?

Is that located inside the cruise control assembly?

The clockspring is what the airbag and cruise plug into. TTORA.com has a schematic for our trucks. Check from the clockspring to the ECM, with the connector to the ECM disconnected. Disconnect the battery, wait 15 min, WITH THE AIRBAG DISCONNECTED FROM THE CLOCKSPRING, use a multimeter to test the clockspring for continuity. Do not remove the clockspring to test it.
A spark from static electricity, or voltage from a multimeter can set off an airbag. Make sure you disconnect it, and set it OUTSIDE your vehicle while working on the clockspring. Set it connection side down on a clean wood surface(no plastic or cloth surfaces)
