So I searched but there is a ton of information to go through. I just purchased my ECGS Bushing and was going to install it soon, but I just spoke with my dealer and they said a TSB was just released for the needle bearing for the exact reason the bushing was developed.

Has anyone done the TSB? and if so, do they deal with the bushing problem too? Is it worth just doing the TSB vs the Bushing?

    Any thoughts would be great!

i have not heard about any TSB.... but honestly just use the ECGS bushing.... not worth your time n energy to deal with the dealer.

I disagree. Use your dealer for the tsb. If it's still a problem later then you could always do the new bushing.

I agree with you...its not much more with parts and labor to have them do the TSB, so I just thought if they have done something to fix it, I get the needle bearing replaced, the issue fixed, I don't have to give up my time and all for only $250 more than I have into the ECGS parts and puller. If it truly fixed the issue, I will probably go that way, I just want to know it actually fixes the issue.

I am going back to the dealer today so I will get more details on the TSB.

get us a TSB number and see if you can get a printout of the TSB.'

if they are just replacing the needle bearing with a new one... its pointless as the problem will persist. If they are replacing it with an actual ECGS bushing or something like an ECGS bushing, then have them do it.

I would not want to replace a shitty part with another shitty part. Maybe see if they'll install the bushing you already have under the TSB.

What year is your truck? TSB is free under warranty. If it's not free then use the ECGS bushing.

honestly i wouldnt even trust them to do that.... the ECGS bushing is longer and they would probably drive it all the way in like it was the bearing and bind everything up.

I thought I read that Toyota was testing the ECGS bushing for possible implementation

Sounds like the instruction is a straight up replacement? I had mine in and, because it is intermittent, they couldn't find a problem. Now that I have a camera under there, I can observe the front propeller shaft spinning up as a result of the binding of the CV axle spinning up the differential. I'm going to video that for the next time I can get to the dealer.

Wow this is great news! Gonna show my dealer this issue and see how it goes.. I wonder if the bearing they install is of smaller insider diameter or direct replacement.

10 bucks says its simply replacing the needle bearing with the same thing, inspecting and replacing the CV if any signs of wear.

Id be real impressed if they actually took a page out of ECGS's playbook and used a longer PTFE bushing rather than a needle bearing.

The rest of that TSB will lend to the tale of whether or not a different part number is used in place of the Offending Part
