Help 1999 Tacoma SR5 TRD

    I know about the horn and not being able to start it. Been there, done that with replacing the battery. Never could figure out how to disconnect the alarm. Anyhoo....you have to wait between horn honkings to start it. Let it honk...wait for a pause then hit the starter. It works, trust me.

    AND...there has GOT to be someone close to him to open his door. Kmon y'all!

    If you feel no resistance in either the inside or outside handles then it would be in the lock portion of the latch. If you have resistance then you can figure it is in the latch itself. Call a local body shop and ask what they would charge to open your door. They do it all the time and I bet they wouldn't even charge you a hundred bucks to open it.

    If you have the door panel off (hard but not impossible with it closed) try spraying some PB Blaster or WD40 on the door latch from inside the door. It could just be gummed up from years of use.
