Toyota Tacoma Grille Surround

Hello fellow Taco Owners,

I have a chrome grille surround that I am looking to either sell or trade for a white grille surround! Let me know if you're interested and we can maybe work out a deal!

 

how much are you selling for?

 

I'd like to get $150 for it or trade for a white one

 

Wish toyota color matched them more frequently... My truck is black and I have the gunmetal surround...I freaking hate it

 

You couldn't have said it any better, i just want a white one so it matches the rest of the car. Im not big on derping it

I feel you OP! Mine came with chrome grille too. Plastidip covered that up pretty quickly! I'd rather it be black than chrome.

Eventually I want white as well.

 

Partsgeek.com has grills for $35. They come in 2 peices too so it should be cheap to have painted.

 

What crap! lol For a 2015 the cheapest I see that fits a Tacoma is $100.98

2008 Tacoma Grills are where you get the $36 range.

They don't appear to list any grills for the 2011 the OP has.

 

To get a model year correct grill OP needs to go OEM.

 

Not to mention who knows what quality the aftermarket pieces will be to begin with. Especially since some are so dang cheap. The $36 unit claims to come with color matched paint...

 

You have a 2015, go OEM. Camelback Toyota sells them for about $180, you can sell your chrome for about $125 or so on CL.

 

If the OP is looking only for the surround he could buy the 05-10 grill for 36, paint it and install it onto his 2011 grill. assuming there is nothing different about the grill other than the 11 has the honeycomb look. The rest of the grill is appears the same.

Its paint to match. it just comes unpainted...

 

I think I'd be interested in getting a new grill completely at this point. I've heard that trying to match the super white paint job is nearly impossible to do by yourself.

 

Have you ordered one of these before? Wanting to know what the quality of it is...

 

I have ordered one before and it fit like the OEM one with no issues. I love that it came in 2 pieces so I could paint it easier. I bought the paint to match one. not sure it the others come attached already.

 

What was your paint process/cost?

 

This is the only pic I have of the grill. I sanded the entire grill with 500 grit, primed it, sanded with 800 then 2000, then painted with duplicolor color match from O'reilly's, then clear coated. I mounted it with using a heat gun to soften the tabs and a screwdriver to bend them up. then i epoxied a few of the tabs just incase.
