Right so I guess its preferential. Digressive you feel the road more, small bumps but less body roll, better cornering/handling. Progressive you soak up all the little bumps but have more body roll. I havent found the Icons to be bone jarring at all on the paved roads.

Like i said before its all relative, so it shouldn't be bone jarring. The characteristics at different speeds should just be a little different.

I'd sell them to you but I think the current owner might be disappointed. ;) Wheelers is a good place to buy them though.

Update again 8 months later. The T-9 boeshield has done wonderfully for protecting my coilovers and shocks. I have put a total of three applications on them total so far this year. No rust at all yet and I drive on the beach. Also I use the neoprene icon covers and I love how they keep all the heavy duty mud and gunk off the coilovers. Makes cleaning them up to respray much easier.

This is a few pics of how well the neoprene cover keep my stuff clean. I hadn't taken them off in a good 4 months prior to this and haven't washed them so several wheeling trips have passed too. This is also right after a pretty wet/muddy wheeling trip and they stayed fairy clean. I love em.

I cleaned em up real quick and sprayed and wiped on another coat of the T-9 boeshield and covered em back up for another 3-4 months.616d36ff9652c7d719f9dddba104f706_c02a129d589a99101cf255b3d2c8f9c8697a6204.jpgb6952fe77df16df8efdefdeb4bff819a_8dc39b5395957c979738848855b5bb2524d06849.jpg0891bb8954826d28eed034cb66f3be55_77156e3e1c84ba03f20516e06da0a2a83f19aabc.jpg1171dabde22c959ed0c1cdf93ed15688_03677103b3ee35d8f01a9342dcd4044f3d7ff432.jpg75785f3ed7d90f08bef15bcbbbd45e81_bb0ec5029dfafd0d537ebcd65ba7bf1659cf5565.jpg

I'll just keep doing this as preventative maintenance and hopefully they last a long time

I will just mention this here too while I am at it and said this in another thread about the icon UCA caps.

Just an update. I have had my ucas capped for 8-9 months now and took the cap off for the first time on Monday. Before I ever put them on I put 2-3 coats of dri lube on them and let them dry, then I capped them. Anyway they look perfect. Just like the day I put the caps on (thank goodness) I wiped em down and threw several layers of the Tri Flow dri lube again and recapped em.
Here are pics of taking the cap off:

    fc46f3cc8dba0761ab88721d67316973_aa765b0899e0dae93359abffc63c01815edf5fcb.jpgc57d2e0708f8072c6ce152b55eb436f9_cc0265858f58a7431b96046b1078c3e985ba598b.jpg550175bbe14d803d57f0b497474359f7_d206331ceda9ea9bac97ecd09e7bd7ff20f6f13e.jpg

So they def work on keeping the dirt and grime out. I was worried I would have a bunch of rust in there like some thought or mentioned but I didn't even though I have driven on the beach many times and wheeled a decent amount over the past 8-9 months so I think they are great

Those caps really seem to help. Do you get much squeaking from the uniballs?

So, I'm late to this shock party.

I bought extended travel remote reservoir Icons front and rear back in 2009.

60k miles of trail and winter driving in Canada where we have road salt like crazy, the shocks are DONE. Not even rebuildable as everything is damaged (rods, seals, bolts, etc.).

Now I need to buy new shocks ($$$) and I will certainly put those boots on them!!! Glad I am seeing this thread!

^haha I'm not trying to be a dick, but that's totally user error, brother! You should inspect your suspension every so often for stuff like that lol! Well, I hope you treat your next set better, as they will treat you better as well!

    It's pretty poor manufacturing IMHO.

Until I buy different coilovers, I'll control it as best I can. Since I discovered the oxidation earlier today, I've been thinking about spraying Salt Away on them as a cleaning & preventative measure and then over-layering Fluid Film or similar filmer.

FYI: Salt Away is a marine engine cleaning and protective wash that I use to mitigate corrosion in and on my boat's engines. It does a pretty good job in a salt & brackish-water environment, and I have gallons of it, so why not try it?

    Working on it now....UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Are they being exposed to salt environments? How did they oxidize so quickly?

Went to the beach a week or so ago. As soon as I returned home I spent about a hour spraying down the underside of my truck and suspension alone, not including the time it took to wash the body of the truck itself. Washed the front and rear suspension with detergent and water for good measure, and relubed the components afterwards.

Otherwise, my truck spend 99% in non salt environments. My PreRunner with Icon shocks has not experienced this rapid oxidation and its been exposed to far more than these Fox.

What's curious is that the oxidation is not uniform unlike many of the pictures posted; so far it's "splotchy" across the body of the shock.

I'm pretty methodical about keeping my vehicles clean, to the point of annoying my wife at times lol.

    Howdy Guy's !
Been reading and reading for days, so , not to bore ya'll with my question but I can't find the answer .
I'm changing my suspension from 5100's to Kings up front , Dakars and Bilstein's in the rear.
How do I get 2.75-3" of lift in the front with the Kings ? (700#)

I apologize for maybe a redundant question , but like I said ...
    I'm all read out .
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank's !

The shocks have a threaded body with a collar on them. The threaded collar has holes in it that you turn with a spanner wrench to increase or decrease the amount of preload on the spring. More preload = higher ride height. You adjust them after they're installed.
