2004 Double Cab - new to me in 2015

Wanted to introduce myself. Always liked the Tacoma but in the 90s the only little pickup I could afford was a 2WD Mazda. Did get close with a 1st gen 4runner but it rusted out underneath me.

I intended to replace my 2004 WJ Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that had 167,000 miles on it with a lower mileage unit that I was searching for. As I searched the interweb I found several WJs but I saw a dealer pop a new listing for a 2004 Double Cab Tacoma (no pictures) - I live in a condo with underground parking and the length of the vehicle can't exceed 210 inches otherwise I would block my neighbor. So the Jeep fit no problem a 1st Gen Double Cab with inches to spare.

Didn't even bother to look at 2nd Gens due to their length.

Since I had no pictures of the truck I had no idea of options or condition of the truck. They did post a car fax showing two owners and 76,000 miles. Lowest mileage I have seen and almost the same as one of the Grand Cherokees I was interested in. The truck was 2 hours away so on a whim (but with the title of the Grand Cherokee in hand) I made the trek to Dixon, IL from Madison, WI.

I considered looking at one much closer to me in Madison, WI with 266K miles for $12,000 but that didn't seem like a deal. The one I was looking at was listed at $18K and with 76K miles.

With trade-in I picked this up for $14,000 and that seemed reasonable, but time will tell.

Here are a couple of pictures - I get to pick it up once the Credit Union processes the paperwork - looking forward to having this truck for a very long time and learning all the tips and tricks - will be used for weekend camping, light offroad (very light) and pulling my 1981 Glastron runabout with it.
