It's been foggy the past few mornings - got a few ideas brewing! Looking forward to the entries this week.

I went for the "Aspect Ratio" idea of composition... Pretty happy with how this turned out. I was able to use the fog that was lifting and got this shot right before the sun poked out over the hills this AM. Just so happened to catch some ducks heading for the water too!

Trying to get back in it, but didn't have my camera with me so I snapped a cell phone shot of a strange and interesting local park.

Looking good in here! I'll do what I can but work is going to keep me from picking a winner until tomorrow evening. Keep em coming!

I scheduled time to go take a drive and explore (recently moved to NE AR) with the idea of it being a great chance for this challenge. After about 30 mins of driving, I found a great place with a rail road track bridge over a river with a train coming. Set up the camera, snapped a quick shot to see if my setting looked good, and .... no card installed!!! So mad! I just stood there and took the picture I wanted as the train rolled by anyway.

Edit: Card was in my computer back home

I've been picky and stalking this thread, glad to see it back up and running! I was actually able to get this photograph Saturday while working a wedding. (I'm stuck between this photograph and another... choices choices!) ((but I really love food))

Sorry if it comes out to large, won't let me upload the photo file.

Please take the praise and critique with a grain of salt. I do not claim to be a pro or know all that I am talking about. I'm going to merely just explain how i saw each photo. This helped me a ton too just re-hashing all the points that make up good composition!

@stroM- : Great scene you captured. Your photo conveys an involving sense of mystique. The aspect ratio is hit pretty good here although I was wishing there was something a bit more prominent in the foreground for focus, everything feels kind of far away.

@camptaco01 : Excellent use of foreground. It feels like an extreme vignetting but naturally created which is cool. The intensity of the foreground draws a focus to the person even though the background is beautiful.

@WestCoastCole : Excellent take on breaking from vertical and horizontal lines. The diagonally broken up image is intriguing. I found my eye wandering around the photo for a focus of the shot though.

@92shawman : Great composition here! The center of the photo pops with the lighting and the subtle details in the foreground and background enhance the center focus nicely. That slide or concrete thing winding down the hill was totally a fun inviting way to set up the photo.

@m3bassman : +1 for a Tacoma! The rocks and the truck cresting the climb is a great visualization of the moment. That toyota emblem in the grill is a striking contrast piece , really cool.

@TinyTech626 : I just ate but am suddenly hungry again haha. The contrasting colors really make for a nice composure! A shiny piece of silverware would have done the trick for me to complete that shot. Great use of aperture to keep the focus where you wanted it.

@medic2230 : Really great shadows and cloud contrast. I love how the building seems to come from the background very subtly and pop into that entryway, very nice angle. I think a vertical aspect ratio could have bettered the shot for me, the background to the left of the photo feels like too much space and my eye got pulled over there wondering what was over there. That's being picky though :p

For me, the winner this week is @camptaco01 :)

    Congrats Eric!

    Thanks for the feedback Marc.

Haven't heard anything from Monte so I'll keep it going. Waiting on your PM with the new challenge.
