    GPM is equally important.

Our main washer is getting an upgraded pump and will either be 5k or 6k PSI..

    Too few to list.
I used acetone to remove paint before with no ill effects to the bed.

Yup, high pressure with nothing to back it up is useless.

Just try some solvent or thinner on the bottom of the bed to make sure it doesn't do any damage (it shouldn't) then wipe away.

Yeah, it's a large pressure increase when the water starts getting warm. We run a large diesel fed heater on ours and generally push the temps to at least 180.

I know it's pretty basic concepts so why illustrate them? I didn't see the need to go into details about a cleaning project. Thank you for taking the time to explain to us feeble minded folks.

    1) Buy a tonneau and forget about it

    2) or work on the sides only, put a mat over the bottom

    3) or refinish the bed with a quality product

For removal, a bit of LT and a scotch brite would be something to try. Or even paint stripper. Experiment in the areas that will be covered by the mat, just in case you don't like the result to the bed finish (may deglaze?)

If you decide to 'refinish', look at www.monstaliner.com

maybe some high grit sand paper or a stiff drywall knife something to scrape it off... it might leave scratches behind but it is a truck bed! and at least the color of paint wont be there. or get some DIY bedliner from a auto part store and get r done

Once paint is dry/cured/hard, the "gentle" chemicals (paint thinner, gasoline, etc.) will *not* work. Try paint STRIPPER. I don't think that it will hurt the bed -- the bed isn't painted, its surface is more like a plastic or gelcoat or some other fancy composite.

They now have a number of Goof Off formulations but the can in most everyone's garage is usually the "ultimate" or "pro." Don't know about the others but that one is primarily acetone and xylene with some other nastys mixed in. Its surprising just how bad the stuff really is.

Just checked the label on the 1/2 gallon of Goof Off Ultimate in my garage (think that was only formulation when I bought it) and it contains toluene in addition to xylene. Think I remember there being more bad stuff in the can back when I checked the MSDS. After killing a few mouthbreathers and unsuspecting housewives they must have gotten spooked and toned it down a bit. But its still a witches brew of hazardous chemicals. Remember kids, just 'cause they sell it to your wife with a cute label doesn't mean nonhazardous.

Last reply from the OP was Friday. This is like the cliffhanger at the end of a seasonal TV series. I want to know what was tried and what the results were.

Maybe he tried explosives first (instead of last) and disappeared.
