First I would like to take the time and use this not only to document all I have done to the truck but also to thank all the help on the forums. I learned a lot on this website and generally most people were helpful.

It all started when i was 15 and had the ability to get my first car, 1987 VW jetta GLI 5 speed black interior, leaked oil and smoked above 55mph. Only car in the world is what I tol dmy parents, It had a crank sunroof and power windows about 3/4 worked. The modding did not really start with this bad boy as I was so young, did not know all the much about cars at the time, so in the 4 years I drove this hog I never even changed the oil just kept pouring more in. Sold it for 1000 bucks.

Next was when I was a freshman in college I came into a bit of cash from graduation and purchased this 2002 acura RSX as i wanted a 2 door and 5 speed. I paid 9k for it and it had 34k miles on it. The mods started here, just got my toes wet. Threw some tint on the windows, CAI to make it sound better, 12inch sub in the hatch to make it rattle and learned car maintenance finally. Great commuter for college as it was about 90 miles from my home town where my girlfriend lived....now my wife. Sold it for 8000 bucks

The reason I sold the Acura was I graduated from college and my dad had a deal for me, This is where the Tacoma comes into the picture. (most recent photo 5/5/2015)

But every story has a beginning, the deal was my dads company in canada wanted to get out of a fleet of lease vehicles they had at their mine that they just leased about a year ago. In order to do that they had to buy the trucks then sell them on their own, they sold 7/10 in the small town of whitehorse in the yukon. Three of them sat in a lot for 6 months, my dads boss said just get rid of them, He said what can you pay....I had a job and out of school debt basically, lived at home, not married, no kids, I said 15k. His boss said SOLD, I was pumped, Now how to get a truck 1800 miles away in a different country. Paid some trucker a stack of 100s, he put it on a trailer to the border, my dad met him and brought it back across with a golden ticket from toyota saying it meets all american specs. Im the red dot.

Im ashamed to admit that I do not have any day 1 pictures as i lost them when my computer crashed, My dad said its super dirty and may need a but of work but you know how to clean and we will get it looking great. Basically this is what they must do with trucks at a mine.

Found an old picture of it up in the yukon at the mine, surprised the windows were not rolled down. Most virgin photo because I did not own it yet.

Basically my dad and I spent about 8 hours cleaning the interior, 300 qtips, a full bottle of carpet shampoo, lots of raw fingers by the end. Cool interior looked ok but I was not satisfied, spent the next day about another 6 hours pulling seats out and door panels and whatever trying to get all I could. Better. Still no pics.

Next was the exterior, I grabbed the creeper a pair of glasses and a mouth shield, laid under that truck and sprayed water in every inch of it until i stopped seeing dirty water. I found gold ball sized chunks of rock in the frame from the mine.... gold flakes in it. Dropped about 100 lbs of just dirt and mud on the street in a perfect square, had to go shovel it up later when it dried. Next was a few things first, the rear shocks were leaking, bilstein 5100s installed all around. Front set at 1.75 and rear was the stock 4 leaf pack

It came with toyo MTs 265/70/17 and a aluminum bed rack from the mining company as they loaded heavy core samples in it, I took it off and had it lined flat black. Then I thought bull bars were cool.....got it of craigs for 50 bucks, sold it quickly for 130. Most virgin pic.

Next were the addition of plasti dip emblems and new black rims, some ultra goliath rims from craigs list for 175 for all four. Sold the old sport rims for 225.

After the rims I like to see things stock and stay functional still, so i ordered a matt123 OEM 10g steel skid plate stamped with TRD. Painted it silver letters, not great but oh well. Ran that for awhile before taking it off planning on going IFS skid.

Next was a learning experience, I was up in the mountains in Idaho in spring with my brother and soon to be father in law. Hunting property where i have slayed some good looking elk, we were just going for a hike and looking for sheds. The roads were sloppy and muddy still but i had a tacoma and a leveling kit and mud terrains. Drove down a road a ways and realized it was getting worse, so we were smart and turned around, coming back the way we came, at the bottom of part of the road was basically a small pool. I made it through once already, but it looked more wet, i rolled into it and let that 4.0l grunt made it a good 95% of the way then came to a dead halt. I was stuck and it was up to the frame, middle of no where, no cell service, no recovery gear. We get out to dig for awhile until we realize a spring feeds this pool and we are going no where by digging.

Well we walk a good 2 miles and get cell service, my father in law calls a forester one of his employees to come get us. Him and another employee both come out with company trucks and recovery gear, after using a hi lift jack on the rear of the truck we get some cut logs under the tires. Since they cant get behind me and pulling me out forward up a muddy hill did not work they ended up running a 200ft cable to a block and tackle behind me and to the rear of the truck. Chained both GMC 1500 v8 together. Cable broke once but the second time I was free. Im in the blue sweat shirt thats my brother home on leave. He has a silver 2007 access cab.

The water filled it up quickly.

Then we took chainsaws and axes and cut a new road around it up the side of the mountain, put it in 4low and crawled over stumps and logs to get around it and went home after about 7 hours of suck. Now to clean this pig all over again, someone reversed with the window down also, it was not me.

Now I decided I would like to be taller, I would like sliders, I would like recovery gear and skids, This is kind of where the build really became more about not getting kicked in the balls by nature again in front of your soon to be father in law, although he said u better punch it before the mud hole!

Found and rebuilt a high lift jack, and added a bed mount shovel.

Next was getting a D shackle receiver, D shackles, snatch strap, Hi lift winch kit, full socket and tool set, dry clothes, first aid kit, Waterproof clothes, Air compressor, any other ETC.

Rust is just like have hair on your chest, never goes away and everyone has it.

Next I got married and we moved into and apartment where 90% of my projects were done, it had a small garage that housed my wifes car and the quads along with my tools.

Next I found a good deal on some BAMF bolt on sliders with kick out that were bought but never used, (idaholandho) He gave me a solid deal on them and some OEM brand new rear leaf springs. Shipped them up to me, went to harbor freight bought a cheap ass corded drill and drilled for about 2 hrs total not that hard, dont know why people complain, mounted the sliders with no problems. Painted them and the pre drilled holes.

Also made a light bracket for about 5 bucks and threw some lights on it.

Next was the DIY thin lip satoshi, I didnt fiberglass or do any of that, got a piece of perforated aluminum from zoro tools online Cut the old grille out, made a cardboard cut out and then fit this one in and used a ABS glue and zip ties....its rock solid.

Added a Engine CAI as I got a good deal on it and it made it sound better, hope it helped with MPG but maybe not, Also added AFE exhaust as my stock one was pretty banged up and i wanted moar noise, no drone at 60mph. Happy with it.

Suspension round two....met a member on here named xTyfighterx, had a tacoma that was pretty sweet but lifted too tall in the end. He now has a bad ass tundra that he never drives!
He convinced me to go OME 885x coils and lower the 5100 to 0. Also added the new Leaf springs that i picked up plus a toytec 1.5inch AAL.

Same day i already had some cooper maxx st 255/80/17 waiting to be installed since I needed new tires, only got about 30k miles out of the toyo mts, they were loud, sucked in the end, heavy, and expensive. Sold them to some guy for 200 haha.. like 10% tread.

Had to trim to get the 33's to clear with no rubbing and still keeping mudflaps so my sliders dont get dinged all day. Used 1 inch thick zip ties to pull the fender liner back.

Then came the lights, I am good at wiring and DIY so i decided to add a 32 inch light bar in the lower valence, a reverse light thats comes on only in reverse, and some courtesy lights wires only to come on when the door opens and the doors are unlocked. (same as the dome light) Added HID in all four lights although only use the main ones and angled them down until retros.

Added hood lights and a relay panel and switch for them,

    Now some random mods,
    Shorter antenna

    Rear Diff breather mod

Coverking neoprene seat covers paid 150 someone one ebay, only bid after 7 days. still new in box. Glad i didnt have to buy wet okle for 600 bucks. Great fit also.

Illuminated 4x4 switch.....why this wasnt stock i have no idea.

Truck is in KM since its from canada, always mess with people when they see it and think im doing 100.

    Cross Bed lockable ski racks

Got this off road tow hook from a junk yard for a few bucks.

    Jumper LED interior lights

    GO fast stickers....and bike mounts

Towing harness relocation and reverse light

    Fun learning experience,
Noticed my front diff was always wet looking, had a small leak coming out of winter, Looks like I hit something? Had to change the fluid so i finally got the bolt off and it was still full of fluid. Put all new hardware in.

    Happy

    Next were the plugs,

Stool to make it easier, use it to prop the quads up for tire changes.

Great learning experience, Most of this all was done alone so I did not tkae very many pictures as I would of liked.

Now really random stuff....toys, wifes car, hobbies, random truck photos.

    Love to pedal

    Brothers tacoma....love his rims.

Big ass 5x6 elk that should of been 6x7 because he was misisng second eye guard (mutation)

Quads for me and the wife, 2004 honda sportrax 250 and a 2006 polaris predator TLD

Went to seattle to help my buddy pick up his 2009 ducati 848......great bike but too pricey to ride all the time.

    My 1999 honda cbr 600 F4

HOW MY WIFE FEELS ABOUT THE TRUCK

The wifes first car 2012 ford escape limited

Second car......2013 toyota 4runner SR5....shes happy in a 4runner....but wont let me touch it.

    waxed

    Dirty

So far this is the build, I will be updating it of course with new additions and using it as a maintenance log.

    THANKS!

Update: picked up a soft topper locally for a steal and its 3 months old. Repainted the high lift jack and mounts. Also after about 2 years of having a dirty engine bay i sat down for 4 hours and cleaned every little area i could with every cleaner known to man.

. Ordered a blue sea fuse box and breaker which will be next.

Updates on the bike. Chopped the exhaust 2 inches with my new integrated tail light. Adding HID head lights soon as the stock ones are not great.
