The only downfall to that would be becoming a Ford owner and breaking down a lot.

I've considered this route before. I've put together a few WRX's and know my way around a turbo and the tuning. I'm not fond of rear-mounted turbos though, too much piping and plumbing running up and down the truck. In all honesty, with the amount of fab involved (I'd be doing it myself) It would be about the same price and the end product would be better if you pulled an LS and T56 combo somewhere and freshened the motor up before dropping it in.

    Just my .02

It doesn't have to be rear mount. There is plenty of room in the engine bay.

You'd need yo go e-fan to clear room for manifold, correct? The only turbo v-6 I've ever dealt with was a TT.

? I don't see why the fan would interfere with the manifold(s).

To get both manifolds feeding into the turbo? I'm envisioning the same concept as every turbo v8 I've ever seen and the turbo being mounted between the front of the motor and the rad/fan assembly so that all cylinders feed into it. In which case the shaft for our fan would be in the way.

I'm here more to learn so if I'm wrong, please correct me.

There are plenty of ways to route the piping. TT would eliminate that issue, but I don't see why it can't be routed behind or under the motor.

Behind and around trans would negate the effects of keeping the turbo up front due to amount of piping. Under the motor would be a pain due to clearance from not only the ground as well as very limited area to work in without risking piping rubbing up against everything underneath. I'm making an assumption on the "under the motor" idea just off what I can remember seeing last time I was up under the truck.

I'm sure it's not going to be nearly as much pipe as a rear mount turbo. If it became that much of an issue he'd just have to go TT and only have to worry about plumbing in an extra oil supply and drain.

This is true. I'm honestly surprised someone hasn't built a twin set-up on the stock motor yet.

well to be honest double the turbos doesn't always mean double the power still running the same psi

I'd rather swap in a 2jz or get really crazy and put in a 20v 5cyl Audi motor. With a different trans of course

I'm aware. But the piping would be easier and it would spool faster. Plus more potential for power psi for psi.

And more power for the psi depending on the setup. More CFM = more power at the same psi.
