    There is a hesitation in the gear shifting when driving around town. If I'm driving at 35+ mph and tap the brakes, I can feel it shift into neutral. Stepping on the gas, the motor revs up and then shifts into gear jarring the truck.

    Weird thing is when I slow to a complete stop say at a stoplight, I can feel it shift into neutral as soon as I tap and hold the brakes. I can count to 3 and feel it shift into gear.

    Bringing it by the dealership in a couple of days. Here are some details of the truck;

    2012 Automatic
    6 cylinder
    Pre-runner

    Anyone else have these issues?

    Considering your transmission is completely computer controlled , start by scanning for codes and post back what you find ,
    A quality scanner should be used if you can . Autozone scans for free I believe.
    I am fairly certain you have the 750 series trans with no filler tube -Got some diagnostics at this link if you are interested

    6yr 50k mi power train, if you are under that take it to the dealer and have them check the fluid level.

    Thanks guys. I will bring it by O'Reilly's (on my way home) and I'm pretty sure they can check the codes for free as well. I set up the appointment with the stealership and will bring it by there in a couple of days. It's out of warranty because it has 70K miles. :(

    if you are concerned about a vacuum leak, chances are you will get a lean code. but if you haven't yet, get a scan tool and look at your long term fuel trims. if they re way high, they are compensating for air the ECM isn't seeing. hope that helps.

    Update - On my way home, the check engine light came on as well as the traction control light. The engine sounded like it was stuck in 3rd gear and the RPM's were sitting around 3800 at 65mph.

    I drove it straight to the dealership.... I'm thinking they are going to hit me with a new transmission charge.

    2012 with 70K miles.
